The technique allows your choice of whiskey or run to come of age enhancing its character and flavor and mellowing the drink in the same way wines and distilled spirits are aged at the vineyard or brewery. This at-home kit was developed to allow for barrel aging on a smaller scale. Rather than filling a whole barrel with a spirit and waiting years for it to mature the kit recreates the effects on a smaller scale at a quicker clip. Simply insert the two handcrafted staves into a 750ml bottle of spirits and wait a little over a week for it to mature. As the process unfolds each day the color flavor and aromas will begin to get bigger and bolder with most spirits hitting their sweet spot after about 10 to 15 days. Once your spirit is aged to your liking simply strain the tasty contents through the cheesecloth included and enjoy straight up or swirled into a cocktail. Designed in Brooklyn NY.
